Treat everything as a prototype

Ok, well not everything. I’m sure my wife or son wouldn’t appreciate being treated as an experiment! But when it comes to everything else, it can be quite freeing to think “let’s see what happens if I do this”.

Workshop Tactics started this way. I asked: what would happen if I made a deck of workshop exercises on cards? It ended up paying the bills enough that I could quit full-time employment. Now I’m asking myself, what would happen if I created a community? Not just around Workshop Tactics either, but other tools and topics to help people become influential in their role at work.

I’m not sure what will happen, but that’s half the fun with the new venture I’ve started called Product Club. Right now, I’m doing weekly live tutorials for each Workshop Tactic card with a member-only community. The experiment is going well. There’s already a small and friendly bunch of us growing and learning from each other!

There’s more on the horizon, with exciting collaborations for new kinds of card decks. All with the aim of helping you change the culture of your team. They’ll be experiments in their own right, too - especially working with a partner with a unique set of skills. It’s going to be an exciting year. I’ll be glad if you join me!
