Anticipation is the engine behind Christmas. We effectively have a part-time job from mid-November til Christmas Day. Gift buying, light decorating, food shopping, present wrapping. Like a wedding, the day itself whizzes by. Then before you know it we’re in the comedown of dreary January. If there’s ever a time or day to be present, and be be off my phone - it’s today.
And it’s worth appreciating today for what it is. I think we chase Christmases of the past. Each Christmas creates memories, which fuels future Christmases with nostalgia and reminisce. This year is certainly not a Christmas like we’ve experienced before. We’ll be clinging on to that nostalgia with both hands today. We need it. Merry Christmas.
